Our mission

Innovation has been deeply rooted within Floréac from the outset. We have continued down this path for over 70 years and it is reflected in everything we do: in our pioneering view of new products and services, first and foremost, but also in our ground-breaking ambition to keep raising the bar ever higher. We work with patience, and with craftsmanship. This creates close forms of cooperation that lead to sustainable partnerships with all the stakeholders involved.

At Floréac, we recognise that although you can go far alone, you can go further in a team. Together with our clients and suppliers, we are writing a single story.

Our place in the world

Floréac is a Belgian family business that is strongly rooted in Lochristi and has a Dutch branch in Bleiswijk. We focus mainly on garden centre chains, independent garden centres and DIY stores, not only in Belgium, but also in other parts of Europe. France, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria are just a few of the countries in which we operate.

We keep our promises thanks to the efforts and dedication of over 130 employees and a turnover of more than 100 million euros.

With craftsmanship, care and dedication, we create value for our customers and partners. We consciously opt for quality and remain curious about everything that moves our sector forward.

We believe in strong, honest relationships. Reliability is central to us: what we agree, we do. We build long-term partnerships with customers, growers, suppliers and transport partners. Based on mutual trust, transparency and respect, we work together on a stable and sustainable chain.

Floréac stays close to its origins: a family business with a clear vision and a people-oriented approach. We show who we are and do what we promise, without detours. Our authenticity ensures that customers know what we stand for: a no-nonsense mentality, an open attitude and an honest way of working.

Our history: from Lochristi to Sicily

Over 70 years ago, Achiel Floré planted the first seed of what is now a flourishing enterprise with branches both at home and abroad.

1954

Achiel Floré sets up the horticultural company Floréac in Lochristi.

1987

First foot on the ground in the Netherlands. From this point onwards, the Floréac Nederland trade organisation supports the purchasing activities of our northern neighbours.

2006

Floréac moves into its current commercial premises: an innovative logistics platform of 3.2 hectares.

2008

The trading companies of the Floré Groep are strengthened by Horticept, a Dutch exporter specialising in garden plants.

2009

New offshoot Ostroplant facilitates the purchase of Mediterranean plants in Sicily. Later in the year, Floréac Nederland and Horticept move to a new location at the FloraHolland auction in Naaldwijk.

2011

The birth of Invento. This trading company offers a Mediterranean assortment from Portugal, Spain and northern Italy all year round. In the autumn, heathers join the range.

2012

Floréac Nederland is rechristened Moterra. The new trading company Coverde focuses on the wholesale sector.

2017

Floré Groep and Amaplant merge to form Amaverde.

2020

Several smaller companies join forces under a single brand: Floréac. This brand focuses on specialist retail: garden centre chains, independent garden centres & DIY stores. Coverde focuses more on wholesale and wholesale distribution.

Plantify Partners Europe

2020

Floréac and Royal Lemkes have decided to collaborate strategically under the name Plantify Partners Europe.

2020

Floréac joins the brand “SILENCE, ça pousse !“, based on the TV show of the same name with Stéphane Marie. Together with Hortival, Ernest Turc, Florentaise, POETIC, Clisson et Hortipal, we offer a full range of products for your point of sale.

Plantify Partners Europe Bleiswijk

2024

Floréac Netherlands (Moterra) moves into the Bleiswijk location of Plantify Partners Europe (PPE), the partnership to which Floréac belongs.

2025

Floréac is once again becoming a wholly Belgian company. This step strengthens our identity, our values and our vision for the future, while we continue to pursue our international ambitions and strong service provision.
